Mobile providers¶
Mobile devices must be configured with an Access Point Name (APN) prior to making a data connection. In some cases, a username and password is also required by the operator. Since APNs are both provider—and geographically-specific, we have provided a way for you to define a list of these profiles for use on mobile broadband legs.
Provider profiles are a mapping between a mobile network operator’s common name (e.g., Verizon), an APN, and username/password authentication (if required).
We provide a list of international profiles—however, it is not an exhaustive list and the entries should be used as a starting point for your own local profiles. If the information in our database is incomplete or incorrect, your mobile provider can provide you with the necessary information.
You must create at least one provider profile prior to adding a mobile broadband leg.
Managing provider profiles¶
Listing provider profiles¶
To list provider profiles, click Policies on the main menu, then click Mobile Providers.
To view the details of a provider profile, click the name or the
icon in the profile’s row. You can sort the list alphabetically
or filter on the profile name and APN columns.
Adding a provider profile¶
To add a profile, navigate to the provider profile index page and click Add provider.

When adding a profile, you may either enter the information manually, or search our database:
Searching the database for a profile¶

Begin by entering a few characters from either the provider’s name or their APN. The results will update as you type and contain the provider’s name, their country, and their APN.
A provider profile can be selected from the list by pressing Enter or clicking on the entry. The values will be populated into the form below the search, where you can adjust as necessary before clicking Save.

Entering a profile manually¶
If you are unable to find your provider’s profile in our database or already know the information yourself, you may enter it manually. Profile name and APN are the only required fields. Click the Save button to create the profile.
Fields¶
Profile name¶
A descriptive name for the profile. This must be unique in the profile’s space.
APN¶
The Access Point Name as provided by the mobile network operator.
Username (optional)¶
The APN username, if required.
Password (optional)¶
The APN password, if required.
Editing a provider profile¶
The edit page is available by clicking the
icon beside the
profile in the bond list or by clicking the
icon in the list
and then clicking Edit at the top-left corner of the profile details
page.

Once you are finished adjusting the values, click Save to apply your changes and return to the profile list.
Removing a provider profile¶
To delete a provider profile, click the
icon on the list view
to view the profile’s details. Then click the
icon on the
Edit button, followed by Delete.

Confirm your action on the dialog that appears. If the profile is in use by any mobile broadband legs, a warning will be shown displaying the list of legs using the selected profile and you will be unable to remove the profile.
