Bonders

Bonders, also called Customer Premises Equipment (CPEs), are located at the customer’s location and perform the reverse operation of aggregators. Bonders take traffic from the customer’s local network and split it between the legs of the bond as the traffic is forwarded to the aggregator, and receive incoming traffic from the aggregator and combine it back into the original data stream before sending it back to the customer.

Bonders also perform basic routing and network address translation.

Bonders are small hardware devices, from book-sized devices with AMD Geode CPUs, to 1U rack-mount devices with Intel Core, Xeon, or equivalent CPUs.
