Upgrading nodes

SD-WAN is supported on the following distributions:

• openSUSE Leap 15.6

• openSUSE Leap 15.5

From time to time, nodes will need to be upgraded to take advantage of security improvements and new features. Node upgrades can be performed manually by following the instructions below.

Note

Nodes can be upgraded from any previous version to the latest version. It is not expected that you will need to upgrade through each version in turn.

Manual upgrade

Run the following commands on the node’s Linux terminal:

zypper install laywire
laywire-setup

After upgrading, peers will be brought offline briefly while SD-WAN restarts. As SD-WAN must be restarted immediately after upgrading, it is not supported to allow the previous version to continue running for an extended time after the upgrade has completed.

It is also encouraged to make sure all packages on your hosts are regularly updated:

zypper update
