Replacing a bonder¶
To replace a customer’s bonder, follow this process:
- Image the new bonder with the same key as the device it is replacing. The bond does not need to be deleted or re-created. After it is provisioned, do not allow the new device to connect to the aggregator until the old device has been removed from the network.
- Send the new bonder to the customer’s site.
- Shut down the old bonder and disconnect its Internet and customer-facing connections
- Connect the Internet and customer-facing connections to the same interfaces on the new bonder and start it.
The new bonder will connect to the aggregator and management server and begin forwarding customer traffic.
